Want to canoe or learn to canoe?  Join us for a leisurely paddle at the confluence of the Collins and Caney Fork Rivers.  We will pass several waterfalls along the way.  Ferns hold onto the rock cliffs next to the falls and create a soothing and cool visual display.  Paddle under a waterfall to get a cool shower.  Get out of the canoe and stretch your legs on a rock and watch as kayaks practice on the falls and whitewater.  Or stop on a sandy beach and take a cool dip in the river.

Rock Island state park has a 19th century textile mill and one of Tennessee's early hydroelectric plants.  Great Falls are formed by water being forced out of the bluff caves.

In addition to a leisure float there are a few short hiking trails which allow you to explore Rock Island State Park from the land.  The camping facilities include a bath house with showers.

After a day spent canoeing, swimming, and hiking just relax next to the fire while the Wilderness Foxes fix up a delicious dinner.  After dinner enjoy some star gazing by the lake or just listening to the sounds of nature.  Join us.  Be a Fox….a Wilderness Fox.
