I have been camping and hiking most of my adult life.  Growing up on a farm, the open fields and woods were my playground.  While working full-time and earning a Bachelor of Science degree, I raised 2 children and have 8 beautiful grandchildren.  Needless to say, I understand needing a stress relief.  The day I started hiking in the wilderness, I was hooked.  What a release!  You leave everything behind for a few days and only concentrate on yourself.  I want to share this feeling with you.

I have enjoyed a life-long love of nature.  Camping as a child with my family, Girl Scouts, and Explorer Scouts, I love canoeing, backpacking, camping, and photography.  I have a B.S. in Geography and Remote Sensing.  May and I started section hiking the Appalachian Trail and it is our dream to complete it….no matter how old we are!  Married with three grown children and three grandchildren I still find time to escape for weekend camping trips.

 

Maureen and May have hiked or camped 75% of the Tennessee State Parks.
